Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited is a leading financial institution providing a comprehensive range of banking and financial services. Catering to both corporate and retail customers, the bank extends operations across personal finance, investment banking, life insurance and wealth management.
Kotak Mahindra Finance Limited, the flagship company of the Kotak Group, obtained a banking licence from the Reserve Bank of India in February 2003. This led to the foundation of Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited, the first non-banking finance company in India to do so. On April 1, 2015, ING Vysya Bank Limited merged with Kotak Mahindra Bank.

Business operations
The headquarters of Kotak Mahindra Bank is located in Mumbai. It has set up 1,780 bank branches, 2,963 ATMs and 15,572 micro ATM installations. Kotak Mahindra Bank operates across 834 pan-India locations and has over 4,417 group branch networks in India. It has also set up an international banking unit in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) in Ahmedabad, a bank branch in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and operates through its offices in New York, London, Mauritius, Dubai, Singapore and Abu Dhabi.
Kotak Mahindra Bank provides a bouquet of products and services under its consumer banking segment such as deposits, lending solutions and transaction services like priority banking, working capital to SME segment and FASTags for retail customers.
One of the bank’s flagship services is called the Privy League programme. It caters to high-net-worth customers, providing features and benefits such as power-packed cards, lifestyle perks and preferential pricing. The bank is also one of the few lending institutions that have authorisation to open salary accounts for personnel of the Indian Army, Indian Coast Guard, and civilian employees of the Indian Navy.
Kotak Mahindra Bank has an Asset Reconstruction Division that provides vital financing required to revive stressed companies.
The bank has many subsidiaries which cater to millions of customers. One of them is Kotak Securities which operates as one of the largest broking houses in India with a wide geographical reach. Its services include stock broking and the distribution of various financial products, including private and secondary placement of debt, equity and mutual funds.
Kotak Mahindra General Insurance Company Limited (Kotak General Insurance) is a 100% subsidiary of Kotak Mahindra Bank. Within India, Kotak General Insurance offers services in the non-life insurance segment. Its other popular subsidiaries are Kotak Mahindra Prime Limited, Kotak International Business, Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Company and others.
Financial highlights
– Total income increased to ₹68,142 crores in FY23 from ₹58,681.7 crore in FY22. – The net profit for FY23 stood at ₹14,780 crore as compared to ₹11,932 crore in FY22. – Net interest margin increased in FY23 to 5.4% from 4.7% in FY22. – Net NPA stood at ₹1,479 crores in FY23 compared to ₹2,149 in FY22. – The company's earnings per share (EPS) stood at ₹74.96 in FY23 compared to ₹60.76 in the previous financial year.
