Stock Market Highlights: Market close in red, NIFTY50 at 22,457, SENSEX loses over 600 points

NIFTY Smallcap 100 closed 0.56% higher, while NIFTY Midcap 100 closed 0.79% higher on Friday.

NIFTY Bank (-0.61%) closes under pressure. Sell off in IndusInd Bank (-3.08%), Kotak Bank (-1.69%) and SBI (-1.17%) dragged down the index.

Benchmark Indices – NIFTY50 (-0.5%) and SENSEX (-0.82%) – close in red on Friday. Out of the NIFTY50 space, 32 stocks are declining. Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Financial Services and IndusInd Bank were among top losers.

Tech Mahindra CEO unveiled an ambitious plan for growth even as it released bleak fourth quarter earnings. Shares on Friday jumped 13% to ₹1,344.95 on the BSE. At the NSE, it climbed 13.16% to ₹1,347. They are currently trading 7.86% higher at ₹1,283.85 on NSE.

Shares of Maruti Suzuki were trading 1.74% lower at ₹12,697 on NSE as the car maker gears to report fourth quarter results.

HCL Tech shares are trading 0.91% higher at ₹1517 on NSE as the company gears to post its fourth quarter results. Analysts estimate net profit to rise marginally by 1.9% to ₹4,054.71 crore during the March quarter. To read more, click here

Olectra Greentech reported a consolidated net profit of ₹13.71 crore in the March quarter as against ₹27.01 recorded a year ago. The revenue from operations fell to ₹288.81 crore during the same period as against ₹ 375.91 crore in the year ago period. Shares of the company are currently trading at 3.74% at ₹1,740.10 on NSE.

Shares of InterGlobe Aviation (IndiGo) were trading 2.42% higher at ₹3,905.00 on NSE. The company on Thursday announced it has placed an order for 30 Firm Airbus A350-900 aircraft, with deliveries expected to commence from 2027.
