The broader markets outperformed the benchmark indices.

Benchmark indices – NIFTY50 (+0.18%) and SENSEX (+0.08%) – closed higher during the special trading session on Saturday, March 2.

The market breadth was strong today. Out of the NIFTY50 universe, 35 stocks advanced. Tata Steel, Hero MotoCorp, Tata Motors, Adani Ports and JSW Steel were among the top gainers.

India VIX, which is a measure of volatility in the domestic markets, declined around 0.24%.

On the sectoral front, Media (+1.75%) and Metal (+1.58%) were the top gainers. On the other hand, Pvt Bank (0.01%) was the sole losers.

The broader markets outperformed the benchmark indices. The NIFTY MICROCAP250 index was up 0.86% today. The NIFTY MIDCAP 100 closed 0.74% higher.
