Most brokerage stocks gain defying a weak market trend

A majority of brokerage firm stocks ended higher on Friday, April 12, defying a broader weak market as the benchmark indices the SENSEX and the NIFTY ended lower 1% each.

Meanwhile, the BSE SENSEX closed at 74,244.9, down 1.06%, and the NIFTY50 settled with a loss of 1.03% at 22,519.4. In the 30-share pack SENSEX, only four stocks managed to end in the green while in the NIFTY50 index, only five stocks ended higher.

Out of 11 brokerage stocks reviewed in today’s market wrap, six ended in the green while the remaining five closed lower.

Here is a recap of the performances of top brokerage stocks on Friday:

Motilal Oswal Financial Services: Motilal Oswal Financial Services shares closed 0.78% higher at ₹2,070.2 apiece on the NSE in a weak market.

Anand Rathi Wealth: Anand Rathi Wealth share jumped 3.66% higher to close at ₹4,050 on NSE.

Dolat Algotech: Dolat Algotech stock ended with a gain of 3.16% at ₹89.9 apiece.

Nuvama Wealth Management: Nuvama Wealth Management share price rose 4.94% to settle at ₹5,400 apiece.

ICICI Securities: Extending the gains into the third consecutive session, ICICI Securities shares closed 0.12% higher at ₹732.75.

5Paisa Capital: 5Paisa Capital share rose 0.65% to close at ₹553.25 apiece Angel One: Angel One share price fell 1.03% at close at ₹2,882 on the NSE.

IIFL Securities: IIFL Securities shares dropped for the second consecutive session, ending the day with a loss of 4.14% at ₹140.

Monarch Networth Capital: Monarch Networth Capital share price fell 2.21% at close to ₹598.65 per piece.

Geojit Financial Services: Geojit Financial Services share price fell for the second consecutive session, ending the day 2.44% lower at ₹82.1 apiece.

SMC Global Securities: SMC Global Securities share price snapped its three-day winning streak to close at ₹145.2 piece, down 3.55%.
