The BANK NIFTY (+0.72%) index closed in green. Buy sentiment for ICICI Bank, SBI and HDFC Bank pulled the index.

Benchmark Indices – NIFTY50 (+0.93%) and SENSEX (+0.90%) – closed in green after strong opening. Out of the NIFTY50 space, 43 stocks were advancing. Powergrid, Bajaj Finance, and Bajaj Finserv were among top gainers

Shares of Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) rose 1.81% on NSE to trade at ₹2467.50 on NSE. The company bagged ₹ 4000 crore order from Adani Power. The order was to set up Raigarh Phase-II Thermal Power Plant in Chhattisgarh.

Shares of Biocon LImited were trading at ₹265.10, a gain of 3.31 % in intraday trades. The company on Wednesday announced UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency’s approval for the company's diabetes drug, Liraglutide.

Shares of Kotak Mahindra rose marginally in afternoon trade on Thursday. The company announced acquisition of 100% equity stake in a microfinance NBFC, Sonata Finance Private Limited for ₹ 537 crore. Shares of the company rose 0.97% to ₹1,791.65 on NSE.

Suitcase and handbag maker VIP Industries announced its key goals for FY 2025. VIP is targeting double digit revenue growth from fourth quarter of financial year 2024 and market share gain from first half financial year 2025. Shares of the company rallied 12.62% on BSE and are currently trading at ₹524.35

NIFTY Financial Services Index (+1.23%) was amongst top gainers today supported by gains in stocks like Bajaj Finance, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank.

GOCL Corporation rallies 13% to ₹428.40 on Thursday. The company announced signing of MoU with Squarespace Builders Private Limited for monetization of approx. 264.50 acres of land situated in Hyderabad. The monetization will happen over the course of 18 months and the total consideration for the land under MoU is ₹3,402 crores.
