NIFTY50 and Sensex close at all-time highs, Coal India rises over 4%, Azad Engineering lists at 37% premium; Stock Market Highlights

The NIFTY Financial Services (+0.3%) index closed higher today, with IEX (+4.3%) and ICICI Lombard (+1.6%) being the top gainers and Chola Finance (-0.9%) and Shriram Finance (-0.4%) were top losers.

The NIFTY Midcap 100 index (+0.5%) higher today. The NIFTY Smallcap 100 Index also closed in green, up 0.7%.

The BANK NIFTY (+0.4%) index closed in the green. Gains in HDFC Bank (+0.3%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (+0.9%) and ICICI Bank (+0.3%) supported the index.

NIFTY50 (+0.5%) and Sensex (+0.5%) closed higher for the fifth consecutive day. The Indian markets closed at their fresh lifetime highs today, taking positive cues from the global markets. Out of the NIFTY50 universe, 36 stocks made gains. Coal India, NTPC, M&M were the top gainers. Amongst NIFTY sectoral indices, Oil & Gas (+2.0%) and FMCG (+1.3%) were the top gainers.

NIFTY FMCG index is amongst top gainers today. Gains in ITC (+1.5%), Hindustan Unilever(+0.8%), Nestle India (+1.9%) supported the index

• Long build up: Coal India, M&M, NTPC, Hero MotoCorp, BPCL

• Short build up: Adani Enterprises, L&T, Infosys, Adani Ports, Asian Paints

Shares of MAN Industries rose over 8% today after the company announced the successful testing of pipes for safe hydrogen transportation. As per the company, this successful testing marks a critical milestone in addressing a major hurdle in the shift to a hydrogen-based ecosystem, i.e. efficiently delivering hydrogen gas to the point of use.
