Markets closes lower, NIFTY50 closes below 22,100, SENSEX loses over 450 points; Stock Market Highlights

The NIFTY Midcap 100 index (-0.46%) closed lower today. Meanwhile, NIFTY Smallcap 100 Index (+0.39%) closed in the green today.

The BANK NIFTY (-0.42%) index closed in red. Sell-off in ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Axis Bank dragged down the index.

Benchmark indices – NIFTY50 (-0.5%) and SENSEX (-0.62%) – slide to close in red in Friday’s trading session. Out of the NIFTY50 space, 39 stocks declined. UPL, Bharti Airtel, and HDFC Life were among top gainers, while Mahindra and Mahindra, BPCL and Coal India were top losers.

Shares of KSB Ltd, a leading manufacturer of industrial pumps rose over 4.5% to a day high of ₹3,716 per share after the company secured a new order worth ₹267 crore. This new order requires supply of pumps along with accessories including motors for Kudankulam site, Tamil Nadu.

Shares of domestic airline Indigo (InterGlobe Aviation Limited) were down 0.8% at ₹3,150 in the afternoon trade on Friday after the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) released monthly airline data. Indigo’s market share was marginally lower at 60.1% as compared to 60.2% reported in January.

Mumbai-based Shakti Pumps jumped 5% on Friday after it won a ₹93 crore project from Maharashtra Energy Department Agency (MEDA) for production and delivery of 3,500 solar photovoltaic water pumping system (SPWPS) across Maharashtra.

Enfuse Solutions Limited IPO opened to a strong demand from the investors on Friday, March 15, as the public issue was subscribed twice within a few hours of launch. The initial public offer was booked 2.32 times till 12:33 pm, as per NSE data.
