Who is a person of Indian Origin?
For the purposes of investing in shares/securities in India, a person of Indian origin is a citizen of any country other than Pakistan or Bangladesh if:
- She or he at any time held an Indian passport (or)
- She/he or either of his parents or any of his grandparents was/were a citizen of India by virtue of the Constitution of India or the Citizenship Act of 1955(57 of 1995) (or)
- She/he is a spouse of an Indian citizen or a person referred to in points (a) or (b)
