Understanding the Contract Note

A contract note is a legal document confirming all trades executed through a stockbroker on a given day, including a detailed breakdown of incurred charges

Key Components of the Contract Note:

Client Information This section includes your basic details such as name, address, and unique client code.


Trade Details: You can review your trade details, including the Order Number, Order Time, Trade Number, Trade Time, scrip details, and transaction type (buy or sell). Financial Obligations:


+Pay In / -Pay Out Obligation: Reflects your profit and loss statement, including brokerage but excluding other charges. A negative amount signifies a credit to your trading account



  • Net Amount (-) receivable by the client / (+) payable by the Client shows your profit and loss statement after debiting brokerage and other charges. If the total amount shown is negative, then the amount was credited into your Trading account.
