Engineering and construction conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Friday said it has acquired 12.25 crore equity shares of the Indian Foundation for Quality Management (IFQM), representing a 12.25% stake in the company.

The acquisition aligns with L&T's commitment to enhance Brand India globally through continuous improvements in product and service quality.

Benchmark equity indices SENSEX and NIFTY rose to their fresh record high levels on Friday. The NIFTY50 touched a high of 25,692.7, while the BSE crossed the 84,000 mark for the first time.

Reliance Infrastructure on Thursday said its board of directors has approved raising of Rs₹3,014 crore by preferential issue of up to 12.56 crore equity shares. Following the development, the company's shares rose 9.3%.

Benchmark indices traded higher on Friday, with NIFTY50 gaining 0.21% and SENSEX up 140 points. In the NIFTY50 space, 34 stocks advanced. JSW Steel, Hindalco, and HDFC Life were among the top gainers.
