Stock Market Highlights: Markets close higher; NIFTY50 at 22,821, Sensex up 690 points

Benchmark indices closed higher on Thursday, with NIFTY50 rising 0.89% and SENSEX gaining 690 points. Out of the NIFTY50 space, 38 stocks were advancing. Tech Mahindra, HCLTech and Shriram Finance were among top gainers.

Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd's board on Thursday, June 6, approved fundraising of up to ₹2,000 crore via issuance of shares and qualified institutions placement (QIP). Read more.

Benchmark indices are trading higher on Thursday, with NIFTY50 rising 0.49% and SENSEX gaining 380 points. Out of the NIFTY50 space, 33 stocks were advancing. Shriram Finance, SBI and NTPC were among top gainers.

Shares of BHEL were trading 12% higher at ₹288.4 on the NSE after it secured an order worth more than ₹3,500 crore from Adani Power Limited (APL) for setting up the 2x800 megawatt (MW) thermal power plant (TPP) at Chhattisgarh's Raipur.

Shares of steel products maker KP Green Engineering Limited hit their upper circuit on Thursday, June 6, after the company bagged multiple orders worth ₹351 crore.

The stock was trading at ₹579.6 apiece, up 5%, on the BSE. The total market capitalisation of the company stood at ₹2,898 crore. Read more.

Benchmark Indices – NIFTY50 (+0.79%) and SENSEX (+0.94%) – opened higher on Thursday. NIFTY50 is at 22,798. Out of the NIFTY50 space, 37 stocks were advancing. NTPC, SBI and Adani Enterprises were among top gainers.

The GIFT NIFTY is trading higher, indicating a positive start for the Indian equities today. Meanwhile, other Asian markets are also trading in the green. Japan’s Nikkei 255 advanced 1%, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index is up 1.2%.
