Oil prices are steady as investors monitor Red Sea developments; Stock Market LIVE Updates

Oil prices (-0.2%) are paring some of their gains after rising to a month’s high yesterday.

This comes after major shipping companies returned to the Red Sea route despite attacks. The attacks on ships in the Red Sea had triggered fears of oil supply disruptions.

However, major shipping players have resumed passage after an international task force was deployed in the region.

Besides this, the possibility of lower interest rates amid cooler-than-expected inflation figures in the US has been propelling oil prices. Note that lower rates could lead to increase in economic activity and thereby demand for oil.
