NIFTY50, SENSEX end in green on April 1 as HDFC Bank, L&T and Tata Steel lead; Stock Market Highlights

The BANK NIFTY (+0.96%) index closed in green. HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, AU Bank and State Bank of India supported the index.

Benchmark Indices – NIFTY50 (+0.61%) and SENSEX (+0.49%) – ended higher on April 1, 2023. Out of the NIFTY50 space, 31 stocks were advancing. JSW Steel, Tata Steel, Divis Lab and Shriram Finance were among top gainers.

Torrent Power has bagged a ₹1,825-crore order for a solar-wind hybrid power project. The announcement led to a sharp spike in its share prices at the bourses, with the scrip trading higher by 6% as compared to the previous day’s close.

Thyrocare Technologies Limited has received a rectification order from the Income Tax (IT) Department raising demand of ₹51 crore for FY17.

"The management of the Company is in the process of evaluating to file an appeal against the said Rectification Order with appropriate authority," Thyrocare said in an exchange filing.

In an exchange filing, Tata Motors on Monday informed that it registered sales of 1,55,651 units for passenger vehicles in Q4 FY24, which is a 15% increase year-on-year. Total commercial vehicles sales stood at 1,09,439 units in Q4 FY24, which is a 6% decline from year-ago period.

Jubilant Ingrevia Limited, today announced the commissioning of a new facility at its manufacturing site for Diketene derivatives at Gajraula, Uttar Pradesh.

IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will kickstart the result season from April 12 for the final quarter of FY24. TCS board also plans to consider the final dividend during the meeting, the company said in an exchange filing.
