Why is my order still pending?

There are three common reasons why your order may remain pending:

1. You Placed a Limit Order

When you place a Limit Order, the order remains open until the stock reaches the specific price you set.

  • If the stock hasn’t yet hit your desired price, the order will stay pending.

2. The Scrip Has Hit the Circuit Limit

When a stock’s price reaches the upper or lower circuit limit set by the exchange:

  • Sell Orders: If there are no buyers, your sell order will remain pending.
  • Buy Orders: If there are no sellers, your buy order will remain pending.

Note: Circuit limits can affect both market and limit orders.

3. You Placed an AMO (After-Market Order)

After-market orders (AMOs) remain open until the market opens and the stock reaches the price you set.

  • Until then, the order will stay pending.

Understanding these scenarios can help you manage and monitor your orders more effectively. If you have further questions, feel free to contact our support team.
