Upstox's order slicing feature automatically breaks down your large orders into smaller pieces when you trade above the exchange's freeze quantity limits. These freeze limits are decided by the exchange and can be found on the exchange's portal.
It's simple, just log in to Upstox and go to the order placement screen like you normally do. When you enter a quantity above the freeze limit, the system automatically handles the slicing for you. No extra buttons to click or settings to change.
Each index has its own freeze quantity limit set by the exchange. Like, * NIFTY- 1800 quantity * FINNIFTY - 1800 quantity * BANKNIFTY - 900 quantity When you enter a quantity above these limits, automatically your order gets sliced.
Let's say you want to buy 5,000 NIFTY futures. The freeze limit is 1,800. When you enter quantity as 5000, your order will automatically split into three parts, 1,800 + 1,800 + 1,400. All three orders get sent to the exchange right away, so you don't lose any time in execution.
