What is the validity of a GTT order?

Depending on which type of order and segment is being traded, investors using 'Good Till Triggered' (GTT) orders have different expiry periods. For intraday GTT orders, the order will automatically be cancelled due to lack of being triggered or emerging by the end of the trading session, which is around 3:15 PM.

GTT validity in NSE and BSE

For delivery GTT orders for equity shares on the NSE and BSE, the order will remain valid for 365 days from placement, allowing an investor to set a long-term entry or exit target without having to check it each day.

GTT validity MCX and Currency

For delivery of GTT orders using futures & options GTTs, including NSE Stock and Index, Currency, and MCX segments, the order is valid until the expiry date of the actual contract. After it expires, the order will pass and automatically expire even without being triggered.
