What happens if the GTT order expiry date falls on a non-trading day?

Traders who use GTT (Good Till Triggered) orders should keep in mind the order expiry rule regarding non-trading periods. When a GTT order expires when there is a market holiday, weekend, or any day that is not a trading day, it will automatically expire on the last trading day before that non-trading period.

Automatic Adjustment for Expiry Dates

This process is designed to ensure that there are no GTT orders that are still pending when the market is closed, so that there is no ambiguity or unexpected executions when the market opens. The expiry date is automatically adjusted in order to allow the smoothest operation of trading as well as the best protection of investors' interests.

Plan for Investors

They should plan their GTT orders appropriately, taking into consideration the next holiday or non-trading day. By keeping their expiry dates within trading days, they can make sure their order is executed as desired without missing the opportunity or having an early expiration.
