What are the different categories of mutual funds?

  • Once you’re logged into the Upstox app (investors mode), click on 'MF'
  • Now Tap ‘Explore’.
  • Under Explore > All top funds, click on View all fund categories.
  • Next you will see Fund categories of Equity, Fixed Income, Hybrid and Commodities. Each category has the subcategories into it.


1. Equity: It is categorised by market capitalisation, diversification, solution, sectors & themes.






2. Fixed Income: It is categorised as Park your savings, Better than FDs, Fixed Income for long term, Others.






3. Hybrid: It is categorised by Equity Fixed Income allocation, solution, Others.




4. Commodities: This comprises metal category.
