To update the name on your Upstox account, you’ll need to follow the steps below. This process requires submitting physical copies of specific forms and supporting documents via courier.

Supporting Documents to Include

Mandatory Document

• Self-attested copy of PAN Card with the updated name.

Additional Documents (Anyone of the following):

a. Notarized Marriage Certificate or Divorce Certificate.
b. Publication:

• Clients residing in Karnataka and Punjab must provide:
• An original newspaper publication or a notarized photocopy if the Gazette copy is unavailable.

c. Notarized Gazette Publication:

• A notarized copy of the official gazette publication showing the name change.
• Ensure the old/existing name in the gazette matches the name on the PAN.

Address Proof (Any one with the updated name, self-attested):

1. Valid Passport (photocopy of the first and last pages).
2. Voter Identity Card (photocopy).
3. Valid Driving Licence (photocopy with the expiry date included).
4. Aadhaar Card (ensure a masked Aadhaar is submitted; learn more about downloading a masked Aadhaar here).

Information to Fill in the Forms

1. Upstox Client ID.
2. Basic Details:

• Name as per the Income Tax Database (use this link to update your name with the Income Tax Department).
• Date of Birth.
• PAN Card Number.
• Address as per your Upstox account.
