Yes, you can use order slicing to exit large positions on Upstox. The platform automatically slices your large positions into multiple smaller orders and then executes seamlessly.
1. Go to the ‘Portfolio’ section and open the ‘Positions’ screen.
2. Click on the position with a large quantity and select the exit option. The system will automatically slice your order into multiple child orders based on the total quantity.
If you want to exit a position with a quantity of 50,000 shares. Here, your order will automatically divide it into 28 separate orders. This ensures smooth execution without overwhelming the market.
Remember, each slice is treated as an individual order. In this case brokerage charges apply to every slice order created. In the example above, you would pay brokerage for all 28 orders.
All slices are processed automatically once you confirm the exit. You can monitor each sliced order's status in your order book in real-time.
