Traders utilising the GTT (Good Till Triggered) order function should keep in mind that the option to disclose quantities isn't available when placing those orders, meaning that GTT orders cannot be placed in partial amounts or with partial disclosure; you must disclose the full order quantity when getting in your GTT order.
Unlike placing orders for limit or market orders, where traders have the option to disclose only a portion of the order quantity or other amounts, GTT orders do not have this option available. Because GTT orders are stored and triggered later based on a price condition over time, the ability to disclose amounts could compromise the consistency in order execution.
The restriction serves two purposes: transparency and to achieve a higher level of execution consistency, once the market price triggers the GTT order condition to be executed. The system can only ensure smoother order processing by having the full order quantity clearly visible and executable in the market, given the situation.
