Yes, you absolutely can modify or cancel sliced orders on Upstox. Sliced orders work similarly to regular orders and they all appear in your order book. You have full control and authority to manage them.


About sliced orders

Sliced orders are nothing but large orders that are automatically broken down into smaller ‘slices’. Each sliced order appear as individual entries in your order book.


Modification of sliced order

Each slice appears as a separate order in your order book.

  • You can modify individual slices just like regular orders.
  • Changes can include adjusting price, quantity or order type.

Modified orders retain their position in the execution queue.


How to modify orders?

  1. Go to the orders section in your Upstox app or web platform.
  2. Find the sliced order you wish to modify.
  3. Click on the specific order and choose the 'Modify' option.
  4. Adjust the parameters such as price, quantity or order type as needed.
  5. Review your changes and confirm to update the order


Cancellation of sliced order

Sliced orders can be cancelled entirely or partially.

  • Cancellation is immediate and stops any pending execution.
  • Already executed portions cannot be cancelled.


How to cancel order

  1. Open your order book.
  2. Select the sliced order you want to cancel.
  3. Click on the 'Cancel' button.
  4. Confirm the cancellation when prompted.


Important considerations

  • Orders can only be modified or cancelled before execution
  • If some slices have already been executed, only pending slices can be modified or cancelled
