Most brokerage stocks closed in the green on Friday, April 19, as the benchmark indices, SENSEX AND NIFTY, made a smart recovery ending the downward trend for the last four sessions.

While SENSEX settled 599.34 points, or 0.82%, higher at 73,088.33, NIFTY was up 151.15 points, or 0.68%, at close 22,147.

The benchmark indices made a smart recovery from the intraday low levels in the final hours of the session to close in the green aided by gains in the metal and banking stocks.

Mirroring the positive trend in the broader market, most brokerage stocks closed with gains on Friday. Shares of brokerage firms like Motilal Oswal Financial Services, ICICI Securities, 5Paisa Capital, SMC Global Securities, Anand Rathi Wealth and Monarch Networth Capital closed in the green.

Meanwhile, stocks like Angel One and Dolat Algotech saw substantial losses, while IIFL Securities and Nuvama Wealth Management ended in the red.

Of the 11 brokerage stocks reviewed in today’s market wrap, six finished in positive territory, one remained unchanged, while four ended the session in negative territory.

Motilal Oswal Financial Services

Motilal Oswal Financial Services was one of the top gainers, ending the day with a 7.16% increase at ₹2,235 per share on the NSE. The stock’s rally followed the company’s announcement of its plan to discuss bonus shares at a board meeting scheduled for April 26. Initially opening at ₹2,045, below its previous close of ₹2,085.65, the stock surged to an intraday high of ₹2,269.5 on the NSE, marking an increase of 8.44%.

ICICI Securities

ICICI Securities stock gained on Friday, ending 1.27% higher at ₹712.50 apiece on the NSE. Throughout the day, it fluctuated between an intraday low of ₹703.55 and a high of ₹716.9, which was also its opening price.

5Paisa Capital

5Paisa Capital shares closed 0.95% higher at ₹565 apiece on the NSE. Starting the day at ₹557.9, below its previous close of ₹558.7, the stock rose by 1.47% to reach an intraday high of ₹567.

SMC Global Securities

SMC Global Securities shares closed at ₹140.45 apiece on NSE, with a gain of 0.90%. The stock opened at ₹137.90 and hit an intraday high of ₹142.95, gaining 2.65% during the day.

Anand Rathi Wealth

Anand Rathi Wealth share price concluded the trading session with a gain of 0.77%, closing at ₹4,170 apiece on the NSE. Initially opening at ₹4,040.05, the stock surged 2.62% to hit an intraday high of ₹4,248.

Monarch Networth Capital

Monarch Networth Capital share ended the day 0.24% higher, at ₹595.2 apiece on the NSE. The stock opened at ₹593.70 and reached a high of ₹605.95 during the trading session, gaining about 2.02%.

Geojit Financial Services

Shares of Geojit Financial Services ended flat during the trading session on NSE, after gaining 1.81% and reaching an intraday high of ₹80.45 apiece. The stock opened at ₹77.15, lower than its previous close of ₹79, and ended the day at ₹79.

Angel One

Angel One shares closed with a loss of 3.63% at ₹2,691.50 apiece on the NSE. During the day, the stock experienced a loss of around 4.29%, reaching an intraday low of ₹2,675.45. Earlier, it opened at ₹2,779.95, which was also its high for the day.

Dolat Algotech

The Dolat Algotech stock experienced a loss on Friday, closing 3.34% lower at ₹94 apiece on the NSE. It began trading in the morning at ₹95.55, lower than its previous close of ₹97.25. Despite climbing to an intraday high of ₹97.60, the stock pared the gains and ended the day at ₹94.

IIFL Securities

IIFL Securities closed as one of the losers, ending at ₹139.50 apiece on the NSE, marking a decline of 1.06%.

Nuvama Wealth Management

Nuvama Wealth Management was another loser on Friday, ending the trading session with a decline of 0.18% at ₹5,275.75 apiece. Despite reaching an intraday high of ₹5,347.60, following an opening at ₹5,315, the brokerage stock experienced a downturn.
