GPT Infraprojects shares jump 8% on order win worth ₹487 crore

GPT Infraprojects shares jump 8% on order win worth ₹487 crore

Shares of GPT Infraprojects jumped over 8% on Wednesday after the company announced it bagged an order valued at ₹487 crore for the construction of a new line in Solapur-Osmanabad section of the Solapur division of Central Railway.

GPT Infra said the contract is in joint venture with GPT’s share being 26%. Last month, the company had bagged a contract worth ₹135 crore from North Central Railway, Agra.

The firm is the flagship company of GPT Group and is based out of Kolkata. The company has manufacturing units in West Bengal, South Africa, Namibia and Ghana. It is a railway focused player, engaged in the execution of civil and infrastructure projects, especially large bridges and road over bridges (ROBs) for railways.

The firm’s outstanding order book stands at approximately ₹3,309 crore with total order inflow for fiscal year 2025 at ₹127 crore.

During the third quarter of fiscal year 2024, GPT Infra reported a 25.9% rise in its consolidated total income at ₹254.4 crore, driven by better execution in the infrastructure business and continued momentum in the concrete sleeper business. Consolidated earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 31.3% to ₹30.2 crore. Net profit almost doubled to ₹14.9 crore during the quarter.

The company’s infrastructure segment recorded a revenue of ₹232 crore in Q3FY24. The segment accounted for 91% of the revenue from operations in the period and witnessed a strong performance on account of continued good execution in key contracts. At the same time, the sleeper segment recorded a revenue of ₹21 crore during the quarter. The company also stated that its subsidiary in Ghana has been commissioned in Q1FY24 and targets to contribute nearly ₹20 crore in FY24.

Shares of GPT Infra have gained over 12% since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen over 286% in the last one year.
