Bajaj Auto shares in focus ahead of Pulsar NS400 launch

Two-wheeler and three-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto shares were in focus after the company announced that it will launch a new flagship model of the Pulsar on Friday, May 3.

Executive Director, Bajaj Auto, Rakesh Sharma, announced the launch of the two-wheeler maker’s flagship bike in the company’s earnings call held on April 18. Sharma mentioned that Pulsar is now a ₹10,000 crore brand and added that six new bike models will be launched this year, beginning with the launch of the new PulsarNS400 in May.

The company plans to launch all these bikes in the first half of the current fiscal year (FY25).

“Pulsar has now become a ₹10,000 crores brand. Further 6 models will be launched in H1 of FY25, beginning with the biggest Pulsar in early May, ensuring that we set a relentless pace and are always top of mind of the customer,” Sharma said.

Shares of Bajaj Auto gained as much as 1.62% to hit an intraday high of ₹9,258.6 apiece on the NSE, after opening higher at ₹9,170. However, the stock pared early gains to close flat at ₹9085 apiece on the NSE.

Pulsar NS400 launch

The flagship offering by the Bajaj Group is likely to come up with a 373.3cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine according to multiple reports. The leading player in the two-wheeler industry has made frequent upgrades to the Pulsar lineup across different engine sizes and will offer similar upgrades for the bike’s flagship model. The bike is likely to come equipped with all-LED lights, fully-digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, SMS alerts and navigation.

Bajaj Auto sales

The automotive sector company informed the bourses about its sales for the month of April. The company witnessed a rise in its total sales (including exports) of 17% year-on-year, growing to 3,88,256 from 3,31,278 in the previous fiscal year. The company’s commercial vehicle sales grew by 7% from 43,293 in the previous fiscal year to 46,467 in the current fiscal. The company’s two-wheeler sales grew by 19% to 3,41,789 in the current fiscal, from 2,87,985 in the previous fiscal year.
