Adani Green Energy Ltd on Wednesday, April 3, announced that it has become India’s first power company to cross the 10,000 MW renewable energy operational portfolio mark.

The Adani group company’s total renewable energy operating portfolio stood at 10,934 MW, which is the largest in India, Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) said in a statement.

Commenting on this remarkable milestone, Chairman of Adani Group Gautam Adani said, “We are proud to be India’s first das hazari in the renewables space. In less than a decade, Adani Green Energy has not just envisioned a greener future but has actualised it, growing from a mere idea to explore clean energy to achieving a phenomenal 10,000 MW in installed capacity.”

“This achievement is a demonstration of the rapidity and scale at which the Adani Group aims to facilitate India's transition to clean, reliable and affordable energy. In our drive towards 45,000 MW by 2030,” the Adani Group Chairman added.

AGEL has set a target of creating 45,000 MW renewable energy capacity by 2030.

The company’s present renewable energy operational portfolio includes 7,393 MW of solar power, 1,401 MW of wind capacity and 2,140 MW wind-solar hybrid capacity.

AGEL mentioned that the company represents about 11% of India’s installed utility-scale solar and wind capacity and accounts for more than 15% of the country’s utility-scale solar installations.

Mentioning its journey towards the 10000 MW RE milestone, AGEL said it set up the world’s largest single location solar plant of 648 MW at Kamuthi, Tamil Nadu in FY2015-16.

The Adani group company in FY23 set up the world’s largest solar plant hybrid RE cluster of 2,140 MW at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

AGEL is now developing the world’s largest renewable energy project of 30,000 MW at Khavda in Kutch, Gujarat. The project built across 538 sq km, is almost as large as Mumbai city.

So far, the company has operationalized 2,000 MW of solar capacity or over 6% of the planned 30,000 MW within 12 months of starting the work.
