Q4 results today: Kotak Mahindra Bank, IDBI Bank, D-Mart, Mahindra Finance, others to post earnings on May 4; check list

The earnings season is underway, and a slew of major companies including some of the leading banks are scheduled to declare their results for the fourth quarter of financial year 2023-24 (Q4FY24) today, May 4. The list includes lenders such as Kotak Mahindra Bank, IDBI Bank, and J&K Bank, along with Mahindra Finance, the financial services arm of Mahindra & Mahindra group; and Avenue Supermarts, the operator of the country’s leading retail chain D-Mart.
Some of the other major companies that are scheduled to declare their Q4FY24 results on Saturday include Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL), the Mumbai-based central securities depository; Kansai Nerolac, the country’s third largest decorative paint company; and Kolkata-based cement manufacturer Birla Corporation, among others.
The focus is likely to remain on Kotak Mahindra Bank, the private lender which has been in news in the recent period due to the restriction imposed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The bank was last week barred by the RBI from onboarding new customers through mobile and online banking channels due to “serious deficiencies and non-compliances”. This was followed by the lender’s joint managing director KVS Manian resigning from his post on May 2.

In the week so far, around 200 companies declared their results for the quarter ended March 31, 2024. Among the most notable were the Adani Group entities, along with companies such as UltraTech Cement, Titan, Coal India and Indian Oil.
Adani Enterprises, which is the flagship company of the ports-to-power conglomerate posted a 38% year-on-year drop in net profit to ₹451 crore. The slump was attributed to commercial mining losses and one-time airport dues.
