Banks will be closed in states such as Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, Telangana, Gujarat, Tripura, Madhya Pradesh, Sikkim, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Mizoram, Chhattisgarh and Meghalaya.
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced that metro services will start from 2:30 pm on Holi.
"On the occasion of Holi festival, i.e., March 25, 2024, metro services will not be available until 2:30 pm on all lines of the Delhi Metro, including Rapid Metro/Airport Express Line," it said.
Indian stock exchanges – the BSE and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) – will remain closed for trading on Monday. The bourses will also remain shut for trading on Good Friday, which falls on March 29.
The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will be closed for trading in the morning session from 9 am to 5 am on Monday but will open between 5 pm and 9 pm for trading in the evening session. National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) will remain shut.
The government offices in most states will observe a holiday on March 25. Many private organisations will also be closed.
Schools and college students will enjoy the long weekend on the occasion of Holi. Many coaching centres will be closed as well.
