Facebook, Instagram down for users in India and across the world

Facebook and Instagram were down in India and many other parts of the world on Tuesday. The outage affected both mobile and desktop users, with error messages preventing login attempts.

According to outage tracking website Downdetector, Facebook received over 300,000 outage reports, while Instagram had over 20,000.

Taking to Twitter (now called X), Facebook spokesperson said, "We're aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now."

X chief Elon Musk took a dig at Facebook, Instagram and Threads with a cryptic tweet.

Error messages such as "log in again", "session expired" and "couldn't refresh feed" popped up while using the Meta-owned applications .
