NIFTY50 and Sensex close higher; Realty stocks zoom; Stock Market Highlights

The NIFTY Midcap 100 index (+1.6%) higher today. Meanwhile, NIFTY Smallcap 100 Index (-0.9%) closed in the green today.

The NIFTY Financial Services (+1.2%) index closed higher today, with Chola Finance (+4.7%), Bajaj Finance (+4.2%) being the top gainers and Kotak Mahindra Bank (-0.05%) being the sole loser.

The BANK NIFTY (+1.0%) index closed in the green. Gains in HDFC Bank (+1.0%), Axis Bank (+2.4%) and Indusind Bank (+2.7%) propelled the index.

India’s benchmark indices – NIFTY50 (+0.6%) and Sensex (+0.7%) – closed higher. Out of the NIFTY50 universe, 30 stocks are advancing. Meanwhile, Bajaj Finance, NTPC and Tata Consumer were the top gainers, while BPCL, LTIM and Dr Reddy were the top losers. On the sectoral front, Realty and Private Bank gained the most.

India’s benchmark indices – NIFTY50 (+0.6%) and Sensex (+0.6%) – are trading at their day’s high. Out of the NIFTY50 universe, 30 stocks are advancing. Meanwhile, NTPC, Bajaj Finance and Tata Consumer are the top gainers, while BPCL, LTIM and Dr Reddy are the top losers.

• Long build up: Indusind Bank, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finserv, NTPC and Axis Bank
• Short build up: LTIM, Tata Steel, Wipro, TCS and SBI

India VIX, which is the measure of domestic markets’ volatility, is down more than 3% today.
