NIFTY50 and Sensex close marginally higher, Tata Technologies makes stellar debut, Realty and Pharma stock shine; Stock Market Highlights

• Shares of the electric vehicle maker rose over 4% intraday after the company signed an MoU with Sharjah (UAE) based BEEAH Group to manufacture electric vehicles. As part of strategic alliance, both companies will conduct feasibility studies for the production of different electric vehicles in the UAE.

• As per company, this collaboration aims to promote the use of electric vehicles and contribute to environmental improvement across the GCC countries and African nations.

India’s benchmark indices ended higher in the volatile session with NIFTY50 (+0.3%) and Sensex (+0.4%) closing in the green. Out of the NIFTY50 universe, 23 stocks made gains. On the sectoral front, IT (+1.3%) and Financial Services (+0.9%) are the top gainers, while FMCG (-0.9%) and Pharma (-0.8%) are the top losers.

Broder market indices outperformed today, with NIFTY Smallcap 100 index closed 1.1% higher. The NIFTY Midcap 100 Index also closed in green, up 0.6%.

The NIFTY Financial Services index was up 0.2% today. Muthoot Finance (+3.9%), ICICI Lombard (+3.1%) and PFC (+3.0%) were the top gainers.

The BANK NIFTY closed 0.1% lower today. Fall in large banks like ICICI Bank (-0.4%), IndusInd Bank (-1.0%) and SBI (-0.6%) dragged down the index.

NIFTY50 (+0.1%) and Sensex (+0.1%) closed marginally higher today. Tata Technologies, Gandhar Oil Refinery makes blockbuster listings, while Fedbank Financial Services list at discount. Out of the NIFTY50 universe, 32 stocks closed higher. On the sectoral front, Realty (+1.6%) and Pharma (+1.6%) are the top gainers, whereas PSU Bank (-0.9%) and Bank (-0.2%) are the top losers.

Shares of Tata Technologies made a strong market debut today, listing at a premium of 140% compared to the issue price of ₹500 per share. The strong debut of Tata Technologies has led to a surge in the overall market capitalization of Tata Group, which touched a new high of ₹26.20 lakh crore today. Shares of the real estate company were locked in the upper circuit of 5% today after the company announced a joint venture with Delta Corp for developing commercial and residential projects in Mumbai and Goa. Both companies have proposed to invest ₹250 crore in the joint venture. Delta Corp will be the majority partner and Peninsula Land will be the development manager on an arm's length basis.

The board REC Ltd, a power financing company, has approved ₹14.25 crore of investment in Hindustan Power (HPX), which operates a power exchange platform for different electricity products. REC Ltd will get up to 19% of the proposed equity share capital of HPX.

Shares of REC Ltd traded 0.2% higher after the announcement.
