NIFTY50 and Sensex continue their record run; Stock Market LIVE Updates

The NIFTY Financial Services (+0.3%) index closed higher today. SBI (+3.9%) and Chola Fin (+1.3%) were the top gainers, whereas PFC (-2.3%) and ICICI Pru Life (-2.2%) were the top losers.

The NIFTY Midcap 100 index (+0.08%) closed marginally higher. The NIFTY Smallcap 100 Index also closed in green, up 0.6%.

The BANK NIFTY (+0.7%) index closed higher today. Gains in SBI (+3.9%), HDFC Bank (+0.3%) and IndusInd Bank (+0.9%) supported the index.

NIFTY50 (+1.2%) and Sensex (+1.3%) hit a fresh record high today. Gains in Infosys, TCS and Reliance Industries propelled the markets higher. On the sectoral front, IT and PSU were the top gainers, while Realty and FMCG were the top losers.

India’s trade deficit dropped to $20.5 billion in November amid a fall in imports. The imports dropped 4.3% year-on-year to $54 billion. On other hand, exports also dropped 2.8% to $33.9 billion. Experts point out that the fall in imports was sharper than the decline in exports. This led to narrowing of the trade deficit.
