UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India): Login, Download, & FullForm

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) issues the 12-digit UID(Unique Identification) card, colloquially called the Aadhaar (UIDAI). The UIDAI was founded in 2009 to assign a special identification number to each Indian citizen. The Aadhaar card is one of India's most essential identification documents and is required for various services.

UIDAI: A Brief History

The Planning Commission of India, now called the NITI Aayog, originally had the UIDAI under its organisational structure.

The said organisation currently enrols individuals, authenticates them, and manages every phase of their Aadhaar Card life cycle.
