Indian markets open higher on Tuesday morning

Indian markets open 0.3% higher tracking positive global markets. The NIFTY and Sensex opened to new high levels on Tuesday morning. The NIFTY is trading 0.2% positive while sensex is up 115 points at 74,854 levels.

The morning gains in nifty are largely led by stocks from I.T, Financial services and automobile sector. Stocks like Infosys (1.3%), ICICI Bank (+0.5%), TCS(+0.4%) and Tata Motors(+0.82%) are leading the gains in NIFTY on Tuesday morning.

The index strength remains on the positive side as 28 stocks out of NIFTY 50 are trading in green, while 22 are trading in red.

IT stocks are in focus as the heavyweights in the index are expected to post their quarterly earnings later this week. Following this, shares of Infosys and TCS are trading higher in the range of 0.5% to 1.3% on tuesday.

OMC stocks again see pressure on Tuesday morning as Brent crude oil prices climb above $90/barrel mark amid persisting geopolitical tensions in Middle East.

On the sectoral front, NIFTY Realty (+1.7%) and IT(+1.2%) are the top sectoral gainers on Tuesday morning, while NIFTY Oil & Gas (-0.3%) and FMCG(-0.2%) are the top losers.

The broader indices also continue to post gains at all time high levels. The NIFTY Midcap 100 and NIFTY Smallcap 100 are up by 0.4% gains on Tuesday morning.

The foreign institutional investors (FII) sold equities in Indian markets worth₹ 684 crore. Meanwhile, domestic institutional investors poured ₹3,470 crore into domestic markets.
