Most brokerage stocks show resilience even as SENSEX, NIFTY extend losses for 4th straight day

Most brokerage stocks closed in the green on Thursday, April 18, bucking the prevailing trend in the broader market as the benchmarks, the SENSEX and the NIFTY, closed with losses for the fourth consecutive session.

SENSEX ended the day 454.69 points, or 0.62%, lower at 72,488.99 with shares of Nestle, Titan, Axis Bank and NTPC as the top losers.

On the other hand, NIFTY closed 152.05 points, or 0.69% lower, at 21,995.85 dragged by losses in Apollo Hospitals, Nestle and Titan stocks. As many as 36 stocks ended with losses among the NIFTY50 constituents.

Motilal Oswal Financial Services: The stock closed 2.15% higher at ₹2,070.15 apiece on the NSE on Thursday after hitting an intraday high of ₹2,115.95 apiece.

Anand Rathi Wealth: Anand Rathi Wealth shares closed higher with a gain of 1.35% at ₹4,142.4 apiece on the NSE.

Dolat Algotech: The stock opened higher and rallied as much as 5% to hit an intraday high of ₹100. The scrip closed 2.52% higher at ₹97.6 apiece on the NSE.

Nuvama Wealth Management: Shares of Nuvama Wealth Management settled with a mild gain of 1.46% at ₹5,275 apiece on the NSE.

5Paisa Capital: Shares of the brokerage firm extended the gains for the second straight day and closed 3.59% higher at ₹560 apiece.

IIFL Securities: IIFL Securities shares closed 3.45% higher at ₹141 apiece on the NSE.

Monarch Networth Capital: The stock settled with a gain of 2.4% at ₹595.95.

Geojit Financial Services: Shares of the brokerage firm dropped 0.88% at close to ₹79.3 apiece.

SMC Global Securities: The stock declined 0.75% to settle at ₹139.65 apiece on the NSE.

Angel One: Angel One shares dropped 2.18% to end the day at ₹2,790 apiece.

ICICI Securities: ICICI Securities share price fell 1.29% to close at ₹703.15 on the NSE.
