Most brokerage stocks end higher as SENSEX, NIFTY hit fresh record highs

In sync with gains in the benchmark indices, SENSEX and NIFTY, a majority of broking house stocks ended with significant gains on Monday, April 1.

The stock market benchmarks extended the gains for a third consecutive session on Monday after hitting their new record highs during the day. SENSEX hit its new record high of 74,254.62 but closed at 74,014.55, up 0.49%. The NIFTY50 hit its fresh record high of 22,529.95 and closed with a gain of 0.61% at 22,462.

Brokerage stocks such as Geojit Financial Services, 5Paisa Capital, IIFL Securities, SMC Global Securities and Motilal Oswal Financial Services clocked healthy gains. On the flip side, shares of ICICI Securities and Nuvama Wealth Management featured among the losers.

Midcap and smallcap segments saw even stronger gains. The NIFTY Midcap 100 index rose 1.74% while the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index jumped 3.26%.

Out of the 10 brokerage stocks reviewed in today’s market wrap, six ended higher and four closed in the red.

Geojit Financial Services

Geojit Financial Services shares surged 10.59% to close at ₹71 on the NSE. The stock opened at ₹64.65 against its previous close of ₹64.2 and hit its intraday high of ₹71.75, up 11.8%, during the session.

5Paisa Capital

5Paisa Capital share price rose higher for the third consecutive session, ending with a healthy gain of 4.94% at ₹530 apiece on the NSE today. The stock opened at ₹512 against its previous close of ₹505.05 and jumped as much as 5.3% during the session to hit its intraday high of ₹531.9.

IIFL Securities

Shares of IIFL Securities also jumped higher for the third consecutive session, ending with a gain of 5.33% at ₹129.4 apiece on the NSE. This was also the highest level of the stock intraday.

SMC Global Securities

SMC Global Securities share price ended higher for the third straight session. The stock closed the day 2.52% higher at ₹128 per piece after hitting its intraday high of ₹129.85 on NSE.

Motilal Oswal Financial Services

Motilal Oswal Financial Services shares closed with a strong gain of 5.41% at ₹1,757. The stock clocked a smart gain today after falling 0.88% in the previous session. Motilal Oswal stock opened at ₹1,681.1 apiece against its previous close of ₹1,666.75 and jumped as much as 6.4% to hit its intraday high of ₹1,774.

Dolat Algotech

Dolat Algotech share price closed with a robust gain of 10.62% at ₹75.5 apiece on the NSE, also its day's high level. After a gap up opening at ₹69 apiece the stock maintained its momentum during the session and closed higher.

Anand Rathi Wealth

Anand Rathi Wealth share price ended with a loss of 2.17% at ₹3,614 apiece. The stock fell 3.4% to an intraday low of ₹3,568.4 apiece but later recovered some grounds.

Angel One

Angel One share price snapped their six-session winning streak to end with a marginal decline of 0.18% at ₹3,039.4 apiece on the NSE. During the session, the stock declined about 1.4% to hit its intraday low of ₹3,001.4 but it pared most losses later.

In the last six sessions of gains, the stock had jumped as much as 23 %.

ICICI Securities

ICICI Securities stock extended its losses for the second consecutive session on Monday, ending 0.36% lower at ₹725.5 apiece on the NSE. The stock oscillated between an intraday low of ₹715.2 and the session’s high of ₹726.

Nuvama Wealth Management

Nuvama Wealth Management share price fell for the second consecutive session, ending the day with a loss of 1.11% at ₹4,620 apiece on Monday. The brokerage stock had touched an intraday high of ₹4,979.8 but pared its early gains to close in the red.
