Mixed trend for brokerage stocks as market snaps 5-day gaining streak

It was a mixed trend for leading brokerage stocks on Friday, April 26, as the benchmark indices closed in the red ending five-day upward momentum.

Indian equity benchmarks, NIFTY and SENSEX, ended lower in a volatile session and snapped a five-day rally. The 30-share BSE Sensex ended the session at 73,730.16, down by 609.28 points, or 0.81%, while the NSE NIFTY ended at 22,419.95, down by 150.4 points, or 0.66%.

Among the leading brokerage stocks, Dolat Algotech, Motilal Oswal Financial Services, ICICI Securities, 5Paisa Capital and Anand Rathi Wealth closed with gains.

Dolat Algotech emerged as the top performer, ending with a substantial gain of 10.16%, rebounding from losses in the previous session. Motilal Oswal Financial Services secured the second spot among brokerages, with its stock surging over 3% on the NSE. Despite suffering substantial losses the day before, 5Paisa Capital managed to end in the green on April 26.

Angel One, which saw marginal gains in the previous session, closed in the red today, alongside Nuvama Wealth Management, Monarch Networth Capital, IIFL Securities and SMC Global Securities, all of which posted gains in the previous session but ended lower today. Geojit Financial Services finished in the red for the second consecutive day.
