Most brokerage stocks gain as NIFTY settles lower after hitting new highs

It was a mixed trend for leading brokerage firms on Tuesday, April 30, as benchmark indices closed below the day’s highs.

While the BSE SENSEX finished at 74,482.78, down 188.5 points, or 0.25%, the NIFTY settled at 22,604.85, declining by 38.55 points, or 0.17%, after hitting new highs intraday.

Out of the 11 brokerage stocks reviewed in today’s market wrap, six brokerage firms closed in the green with Dolat Algotech, Angel One, Anand Rathi Wealth, IIFL Securities, SMC Global Securities and 5Paisa Capital gaining up to 3%.

Extending its gains for a third straight day, Dolat Algotech closed 2.8% higher on Tuesday. It was the top gainer among the brokerage firms reviewed in today’s market wrap. SMC Global Securities, the top performer yesterday, closed with a marginal gain today. Anand Rathi Wealth closed in the green recovering from the losses in the previous session.

Similarly, Angel One and 5Paisa Capital ended with gains rebounding from the losses in the previous session. On the other hand, Geojit Financial Services closed in the red today. Meanwhile, Motilal Oswal Financial Services ended lower for the second consecutive day. ICICI Securities entered the negative territory on Tuesday while Nuvama Wealth Management extended losses for the second consecutive day.
