Swiggy to integrate Instamart with online retail platform Mall ahead of IPO

Food delivery company Swiggy announced on Thursday that it plans to expand its quick commerce offering Instamart by integrating Swiggy Mall, giving customers a choice to purchase a broader range of products other than groceries and staples.

Swiggy Mall, which is operational in parts of Bengaluru, marks the company's foray into online retail.

Swiggy Instamart is already active in over 25 cities, giving an opportunity to Swiggy Mall to scale up in the coming months, starting from Bengaluru.

"Swiggy Instamart is broadening its offerings to include an even wider array of products. With our latest update, customers can now explore an extensive selection across over 35 categories that go way beyond groceries and home essentials, delivered in minutes," said Phani Kishan, Head of Swiggy Instamart.

He added, "This marks a significant milestone in our journey towards providing unparalleled convenience, ensuring our users have everything they need at their fingertips faster than ever before".

In a blog post, the food tech giant stated the integration will further broaden the choice for consumers, who are increasingly inclined to buy products other than groceries and staples from Swiggy Instamart.

This development comes ahead of Swiggy's mega initial public offering (IPO), which is expected before the end of the year. Recently, the company converted into a public limited company.

The holding name of the food delivery app has been changed to Swiggy Ltd from Swiggy Pvt Ltd, as per documents submitted to the Registrar of Companies (RoC).

In February, the company had changed its registered name to Swiggy Pvt Ltd from Bundl Technologies Pvt Ltd. It said that the step was taken "to help establish greater proximity and identification of the company's corporate name with the company's core brand".
