EV Infra push: Adani Total Gas, MG Motor sign MoU to set up charging points, launch app

Adani Total Energies E-Mobility Limited (ATEL), a subsidiary of Adani Total Gas, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MG Motor India to build an electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in the country.

According to an exchange filing by Adani Total Gas on Monday, ATEL will set up CC2 60 kilowatt direct current (kW DC) chargers at new MG dealerships to boost the charging network and enhance customer accessibility.

A dedicated mobile application will be launched to help customers discover EV charging stations, user authentication and bill settlements.

"The collaboration will enhance customer experience with RIFD solutions accessible to MG users at the strategic locations of ATEL's public charging network, especially at airports. ATEL will offer RFID cards to MG through bulk purchase arrangements, featuring preferential discount offerings for MG users," the regulatory filing said.

Gaurav Gupta, Chief Growth Officer (CGO), MG Motor India, said that the automaker is committed to carbon neutrality, sustainability and green mobility.

"We are delighted to embark on a new journey with Adani TotalEnergies E-Mobility Limited, which will catalyse the adoption of electric vehicles in India," he said, adding that the partnership reflects the company's commitment to "revolutionise the EV landscape by building a robust charging infrastructure".

In February, MG Motor had partnered with Zeon Electric to install EV charging stations in Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Maharashtra.

Suresh P Mangalani, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Adani Total Gas, said the partnership will be crucial in accelerating the country's energy transition.

Meanwhile, the shares of Adani Total Gas were trading at ₹973, down 0.5%, on the NSE at 1:42 pm. Intraday, the stock hit a high of ₹988.
