Feb 7, New Delhi - In a landmark move towards embracing digital commerce, 11 Fair Price Shops (FPSs) in Una and Hamirpur districts of Himachal Pradesh have become the first to onboard onto the Open Network Digital Commerce (ONDC) platform.
“This significant step is expected to serve as a model for statewide and nationwide adoption in the future, providing Fair Price Shop dealers with additional income opportunities and enhancing beneficiary satisfaction,” said Sanjeev Chopra, Secretary of the Department of Food and Public Distribution.
Speaking at the launch event, Chopra emphasised the transformative potential of this initiative, underscoring its role in modernising Fair Price Shops and improving their competitiveness in the digital marketplace. He also acknowledged the support of MicroSave Consulting (MSC) in deploying the pilot program.
