Hyderabad-headquartered Hariom Pipe Industries Limited (Hariom Pipes) is one of India’s leading manufacturers of iron and steel pipes.

Hariom Pipes offers a diverse product portfolio comprising mild steel (MS) billets, pipes and tubes, galvanised pipes and coils, hot rolled coils and scaffolding systems.

As of March 31, 2023, the company’s installed manufacturing capacity stood at 5,33,232 million tonnes. Its products cater to markets across 14 states and two Union Territories, with a strong presence in the southern region of the country.

Incorporated on June 21, 2007, as Hari Om Concast and Steels Private Limited, the company was rechristened Hariom Pipe Industries Limited when it was converted into a public limited company in 2018.

In 2020, Hariom Pipes acquired a 36,000 MTPA sponge Iron Unit in Anantapur of Andhra Pradesh for greater cost-efficiency and enhanced control of the entire value chain

The company ramped up its scaffolding unit capacity to 5000 MTPA in 2022. The company came up with an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in April 2022 and raised ₹130 crore.

Aiming for product diversification, Hariom Pipes took over a 1,80,000 MTPA capacity galvanised pipes and coils plant in Tamil Nadu’s Perundurai in 2023. It also established a 1,20,000 MTPA capacity galvanised pipe plant in Mahabubnagar of Telangana the same year.

The market capitalisation of Hariom Pipe Industries Ltd stood at over ₹1,500 crore as of February 13, 2024. Hariom Pipes share price has surged 25% in the last one year.

Hariom Pipe Industries Ltd business operations

Hariom Pipe Industries Ltd is primarily engaged in manufacturing and supply of MS pipes, galvanised pipes and coils. The company’s vast distribution network includes over 560 dealers and distributors, and more than 1500 points of sales. It also sells MS pipes and scaffoldings to select developers and contractors in the B2B segment.

The company’s products serve a variety of industrial sectors including agriculture, construction, infrastructure, engineering, commercial, fabrication, electrical and furniture.

The company has integrated its first two plants in Mahabubnagar, Telangana, and Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. The Mahabubnagar unit churns out finished steel products from iron scrap and sponge Iron. The other plant in Anantapur manufactures sponge Iron exclusively, having the locational advantage of being in the proximity of the iron ore production hub Bellary.

Most of the sponge iron produced in the plant is transported to the Mahabubnagar facility for manufacturing MS billets and pipes, scaffolding and HR strips.

The company’s third production unit in Perundurai makes galvanised pipes and cold roll coils.
Its fourth production unit, and the second at Mahabubnagar, produces galvanised coil and pipes. It is the country’s first manufacturing facility operating solely on solar power.
