With the State Bank of India(SBI) and AMUNDI Asset Management launching a joint venture, SBI Mutual Fund came into existence in 1987. It offers many investment options to match with the risk tolerances of various categories of investors.
SBI Funds Management Ltd. (SBIFML) traces its roots back to one of the most reputable banks in India, State Bank of India. SBI and AMUNDI Asset Management, a fund management firm with headquarters in France, have partnered to operate SBI Mutual Fund. It was established by a shareholder agreement on April 13, 2011.
As per the partnership, SBI owns 61.98% of SBIFML and AMUNDI owns 36.40% through Amundi India Holding, its wholly owned subsidiary. The remaining stakeholders hold 1.62%.
Societe Generale Asset Management S.A. (SGAM), a division of Societe Generale S.A. (SG), initially owned the stake in Amundi India Holding. The holding was eventually transferred to Amundi in June 2011.
