Business operations
UNO Minda is involved in the manufacturing of auto electrical parts such as switches, lighting, batteries and blow-moulded products. Its product range includes switches, sensors, controllers, batteries, wheel covers and seat belts. The company serves major clients like Bajaj, Hero Motocorp, Royal Enfield and Yamaha Motors.
Uno Minda has a diverse portfolio comprising over 26 product lines. The company has filed 394 patents, obtained 344 design registrations and is actively engaged in 75 R&D technology projects.
Approximately 29% of Uno Minda Limited's revenue in FY23 came from the switches segment. Around 23% came from the lighting segment, 19% from the casting segment, 9% from the seating business, 7% from the acoustic segment and 13% from others.
Uno Minda’s switch division is the world’s largest volume manufacturer of two-wheeler automotive switches. This division also hosts a dedicated off-highway switches vertical, serving major OEMs in India and exporting to the US and European markets.
The company’s casting division was established in 2011 and has emerged as a prominent manufacturer of dye-casting components in India. MJ Casting Ltd was merged into Uno Minda Ltd in 2019, solidifying its position as the casting division. The casting division manages two plants in India, with one located in Rewari, Haryana, and the other in Hosur near Bengaluru.
The seating division of the company expanded with the amalgamation of Harita Seating Systems Ltd into Uno Minda Ltd in 2021. Uno Minda Ltd also signed a joint venture with TACHI-S Company Limited, a global seat system creator headquartered in Tokyo, Japan in 2022. This collaboration aims at manufacturing and marketing seat recliners for four-wheeler passenger vehicles in India.

Uno Minda operates around 30 research and development (R&D) and engineering centres across India, Germany and Spain. The company has established over 15 joint ventures with globally recognised technology partners from Germany, Korea and Japan. Its first joint venture was signed in 1995 when the company collaborated with Tokai Rika to manufacture automotive switches for four-wheelers.
