Taj GVK Hotels & Resorts Ltd is a joint venture between Tata Group firm Indian Hotels Company Ltd and Hyderabad-based GVK Group. The joint venture company manages and operates luxury hotels and resorts in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chandigarh and Chennai. The joint venture company was formed in 1999.

Taj GVK Hotels & Resorts is listed on both BSE and NSE. Promoters hold 74.99% of shares in the company while public shareholders hold the rest 25.01%. Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) holds a 25.52% stake in the joint venture company.

IHCL, a Tata Group company, manages and operates various hotels and resorts across the country and abroad. It also owns the Taj Group of hotels.

Taj GVK owns and operates three five-star hotels in Hyderabad and two luxury hotels in Chennai and Chandigarh. It also operates one luxury hotel in Mumbai through a joint venture— Green Woods Palaces and Resorts Pvt Ltd.

TAJ GVK Hotels & Resorts is a leading player in the hotels and hospitality industry with a total of seven luxury properties in four cities across India. The joint venture company started with a single property and now expanded into four cities with six luxury hotels with a total capacity of 1,362 rooms.

The prominent properties of the company include Taj Krishna, Taj Banjara, Taj Deccan, Taj Chandigarh and Taj Chennai.

Taj Krishna

Taj Krishna is a five-star deluxe hotel of Taj GVK Hotels located at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad. The hotel has an inventory of 260 rooms and represents a fusion of e-culture and illustrious aristocratic past. Taj Krishna was ranked second in India and 18th Asia in the 2023 Travellers Choice of the best Top Hotels on Tripadvisor.

Taj Deccan

Taj Deccan, a 151-room property in Hyderabad, is spread over six acres of lush green land. The hotel property offers a variety of options for various business needs including different categories of rooms and Banqueting facilities.

Vivanta Begumpet, Hyderabad

Vivanta is another property of TAJ GVK in Hyderabad. The five-star hotel has 181 rooms and it mainly focuses on business travellers. The hotel started operations in 2011-12.

Taj Chandigarh

Taj Chandigarh is a 149-room property located in Sector 17 area, which is Chandigarh’s prime business and shopping centre. It was the first branded property launched by Taj GVK Hotels in 2005. The luxury hotel is well suited for both leisure and business travellers.

Taj Club House, Chennai

Taj Club House in Chennai is a 220-room property of Taj GVK Hotels. It is known as a prime property for business travellers.

Taj Santacruz, Mumbai

Taj GVK operates the five-star Taj Santacruz hotel under a joint venture Green Woods Palaces and Resorts Pvt Ltd. The JV was incorporated in 2001. The JV between Taj GVK and Greenridge Hotels and Resorts LLP operates the luxury property under a hotel operating agreement with Indian Hotels Company Ltd.

The luxury property has 279 rooms. It is close to Mumbai’s domestic and international airports. Taj Santa Cruz caters to high-flying business travellers. It also offers venues for conferences, events and meetings.
