Force Motors Limited was founded by Shri N.K. Firodia in 1958 and is a flagship company of the Dr Abhay Firodia Group. Initially, the company was engaged in manufacturing three-wheeler tempos at Goregaon, Mumbai. In 1964, the company started manufacturing four-wheel commercial vehicles and in 1969, started the production of Matador Diesel light commercial vehicles.
In 1982, Force Motors Limited collaborated with Daimler-Benz and manufactured the Mercedes-Benz OM 616 engine. In the following years, the company launched a variety of vehicles and entered into a strategic partnership with automotive industry giants such as Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG, which significantly expanded its operations and reach.
