Tata Power Limited’s journey began in 1910, when it was established as Tata Hydroelectric Power Supply Company, making it one of India’s oldest power companies.

Later, between 1919 and 1922, Bhivpuri and Bhira power plants were added, which boosted the power generation capacity.

TP Solar Limited, a subsidiary of Tata Power Limited, operates one of India’s largest single-location, 4.3 GW Solar Cell and Module manufacturing facilities in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu.
In just 9 months period, TP Solar manufactured 2.9 GW of DCR solar cells and 2.9 GW of solar modules. Out of 2.9 GW, 2.4 GW were DCR modules and 0.5 GW were ALMM modules.
In Q3 FY26, TP Solar manufactured 940 MW of cells compared to 196 MW in the same period quarter last year. The manufacturing capacity increased 5x on a YoY basis.
The module production capacity is 990 MW compared to 927 MW in the same period last year, reflecting a 7% YoY growth.
Revenue: Tata Power reported a consolidated revenue of ₹66,992.17 crore in FY25 vs ₹63,272.32 crore in FY24. It showed an increase of 5.87% on a yearly basis, reflecting decent growth.
Operating Profit: The company reported an operating profit of ₹6,319.62 crore in FY25 vs ₹5,732.02 crore in FY24. It showed an increase of 10.25% on a year-on-year basis, indicating that the company's operating profit is growing well.
Net Profit: Tata Power reported a net profit of ₹4,775.37 crore in FY25 compared to ₹4,280.10 crore in FY24. It showed an increase of 11.57% on a yearly basis, indicating an improvement in overall performance.
