SBC Exports is a leading textile exporter in India which mainly deals in handmade carpets and readymade garments. The company also provides manpower and tour services in the country. Its export business is based on wool and silk textiles made in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh.
The company was originally founded in 1991 as a handmade carpets manufacturer in 1991 by Ganesh Prasad Gupta. SBC Exports was incorporated as a public limited company in 2011. Its business was initially spread across handmade carpets, cushion covers, cotton quilts, bedspreads and other similar products. It also started manufacturing and selling readymade apparel in Uttar Pradesh over the next few years.
In 2015-16, SBC Exports expanded its business into hosiery material and clothing items. The company invested heavily in creating a business for itself in hosiery garments for men and kids. It also introduced denim, sweatshirts, trousers, jackets and leggings under different brands. SBC Exports entered the home furnishings market with products like cushion covers, quilts and bedspreads.
In 2016-17, the company entered the market for information technology and manpower supply services. In 2017, SBC Exports also started its touring services via Maujitrip. By 2021-22, Maujitrip became one of the biggest adventure activity and cultural tour agencies in North India.
Over the years, with the addition of the IT services business, the company also started e-governance services, web/software development, scanning and digitisation. The company has worked as a technological consultant for the Delhi government and the Jharkhand Government. It also worked on some projects with National Informatics Centre Services Inc. (NICSI) and Delhi Government Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Limited (BECIL).
The market capitalisation of SBC Exports is over ₹700 crore as of February 28, 2024. SBC Exports share price has gone up over 100% over the last one year.
Business Operations
SBC Exports is currently engaged as a multi-products and multi-sector company in India. It is based in Uttar Pradesh and focuses largely on its textile and garments business. Its business operations are spread across IT services, e-governance services, touring services, and hosiery fabrics & garments for men and kids. It is serving the domestic market as well as exporting its garments under different brand names.
The USA and the European markets have been major export destinations for SBC Exports' textile business. Their cotton segment was leading the textile business with a 38.9% share in sales for FY 23. The company also engages in manpower supply services and hires workers on a flexi staffing basis. This means that it contracts the workers temporarily on company payroll, and then, as a requirement comes up for them, the company creates a contract for the workers with the client.
The IT support services come second after the garments business. However, in FY 23, the IT support services business saw a decline in revenue as compared to FY 22. SBC Exports is currently focused on expanding its exports to the USA and Europe and increasing IT services revenue.
