DCB Bank is a private sector lender headquartered in Mumbai. Its promoters are Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development and Platinum Jubilee Investments Limited respectively. They together hold nearly 15% stake in the bank.

The bank offers a range of financial products and services in three segments— personal banking, corporate banking and NRI banking. The lender also offers and distributes various insurance products and mutual funds. DCB Bank offers internet banking services for both personal and business customers. It was the first private sector bank to waive off advisory fee and service charge for Mutual Fund investments.

The market capitalisation of DCB Bank stood at nearly ₹5,000 crore as of January 8, 2024. DCB Bank share price has gained over 32.44% in the last three years.

Business operations

The bank’s services in the personal banking segment encompass savings and deposit schemes, current accounts, personal and housing loans, phone banking, mutual funds, demat accounts and life and general insurance products.

The bank serves a wide range of businesses- from large corporations to small and medium enterprises under its corporate banking division. DCB Bank's NRI Banking services extend to clients abroad, providing remittance services, Western Union Money Transfers, loans against term deposits and currency exchange services.

The bank caters to customers across various segments including retail, micro-SME, SME, mid-corporate, agriculture, commodities and public sector entities.

DCB Bank has around one million customers. Its branches are located in Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Daman, Delhi-NCR, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. DCB Bank operated 427 branches, including 233 retail branches and 194 dedicated to Agri and Inclusive Banking (AIB) as of March 31, 2023. Of these, around 19% of branches were in rural areas and about 25% of branches were in semi-urban areas. The bank operated 396 ATMs by the end of the financial year 2022-23.

The bank offers its services to many business owners and self-employed individuals. They include commodity traders, gold traders, vegetable traders, commission agents, retailers, restaurant owners, caterers, bakers, vending machine suppliers, consultants, doctors and contractors.

The bank's target customers are in the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector, including both manufacturing and service-oriented businesses. A significant portion of its deposits and loans come from the self-employed segment within the MSME sector.

Financial Highlights

The total revenue of the bank stood at ₹4,609.66 crore for the financial year, against ₹3,964.81 crore in the previous financial year. The profit after tax (PAT) for FY 2022-23 stood at ₹465.56 crore. In FY22, the PAT was ₹287.50 crore. Net interest income (NII) surged in FY23 to ₹1,717.01 crore from ₹1,357.51 crore compared to FY22. Net interest margin increased in FY23 to 3.93% from 3.56% in FY22. In FY23 the bank’s operating profit dropped to ₹786.73 crore compared to ₹796.98 crore in FY22. The Current and Savings Accounts (CASA) ratio stood at 26.42% as on March 31, 2023. The lender’s earnings per share (EPS) stood at ₹14.96 in FY 22-23 against ₹9.26 in FY22.
