Info Edge (India) Limited operates internet-based services through its web portals and mobile applications. The company has business interests in primarily four service verticals — recruitment, education, matrimonial, and real estate services. The umbrella brand is behind portals like jeevansaathi.com, 99acres.com, shiksha.com, iimjobs.com, hirist.com, ambitionbox.com, bigshyft.com and jobhai.com. The company’s network is stretched through 62 offices located in 43 cities across India. Info Edge made a foray into the international market with the website naukrigul.com and has offices in Dubai, Riyadh, Bahrain, Qatar and Abu Dhabi. Info Edge's investment portfolio includes brands like zomato.com and policybazaar.com.

Business operations

Info Edge launched the recruitment classified portal naukri.com in 1997. It was followed by the launch of jeevansathi.com in 1998. The company acquired the Quadrangle division in 2000. Info Edge introduced its real estate classified portal 99acres.com in 2005, a year before it went public with an initial public offering (IPO).

Taking the business outside India, the company launched naukrigulf.com in 2007. The same year, the company made an entry into the professional networking services domain. In 2008, the company launched its education portal shiksha.com.The company also made investments in several upcoming businesses like Kinobeo Software Pvt Ltd, Ninety Nine Labels Pvt Ltd, Zomato.com, Happily Unmarried Marketing Pvt Ltd and others during 2010-12.

In 2015, the company transferred its stake in Etechaces Marketing and Consulting Private Limited (Etechaces or Policybazaar) to its wholly-owned subsidiary MakeSense Technologies Limited (Makesense).

Following this, Makesense entered into a definitive agreement with MacRitchie Investments Pte Ltd (MacRitchie), an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Temasek, an investment company based in Singapore. As part of the deal, MacRitchie subscribed to the shares of Makesense to the extent of 49.99% of its share capital. Following this understanding, Info Edge owned 50.01% of MakeSense which held a 19.65% stake in Policybazaar.

In 2018, the company approved disinvestment of its 6.66% stake in Zomato. The same year, the company made fresh investments in Agstack Technologies Pvt Ltd (Gramophone), Bizcrum lnfotech Private Ltd. (ShoeKonnect), and Rare Media Company Private Ltd through its subsidiaries.

During FY 2019-20, the company acquired Highorbit Careers Private Limited. In 2021, it took over the businesses of Bengaluru-based Zwayam Digital Private Limited and Axilly Labs Private Limited (Doselect). The company also made investments in related and adjacent businesses in Terralytics Analysis Pvt Ltd and 4B Networks Pvt Ltd.

Info Edge acquired a 62.52% stake in 4B Network Private Limited and a 79.62% stake in Aisle Network Private Limited. The company acquired shares of Sploot Pvt. Ltd., making it an associate company.

Info Edge in FY 2023 added a second scheme IE Venture Fund Follow-on I (IEVF Follow-on Fund) to the IEVF and floated other two AIFs – Info Edge Capital (IEC) and Capital 2B (C2B). The company launched the MyKindaNaukri brand which focused on changing workplace and job seeker needs.
